In 2019, the United States experienced 5,601 large hail storms, as documented by the NOAA Severe Weather Database. One of these storm clusters was a record-setting beast in Houston, TX with hail measuring over 4.5-inches.

There were several areas of Houston that hail fell on including Katy, Spring Branch, some of the villages, Deer park and sporadically much more. Home owners are still discovering damage from that storm.

Hail damage to roof tops often times cannot be seen from the ground, and that’s a big reason why the idea of hail damage hardly ever crosses a homeowner’s mind.

This is something that your insurance company will help you with if you find damage and let them know. Do not try to inspect your roof (if you are not qualified). Our inspections are a free service with photo documentation by someone who is certified by HAAG Engineering. HAAG writes the rules primarily for what damage is and the amount needed that warrants a roof replacement.
